Mayor: The primary prerequisite for returning to Camp Nou is to ensure safety, and security verification by relevant departments must be provided.

Recently, Barcelona Mayor Corboni participated in the RAC1 radio program and expressed his views on the issue of some open licensing of the New Camp Nou Stadium between the Barcelona club and the municipal government.
As the city government discovered that there were shortcomings in the stadium in terms of entrances, signage and evacuation routes, it failed to approve the fans' partial return to the stadium. The club hopes to return on the upcoming Sunday, for "sports and economic reasons", especially against Real Sociedad. Corboni reiterated that the city government hopes to issue a permit as soon as possible: "Because things that are good for Barcelona are also good for Barcelona." The mayor said he was in close contact with Barcelona President Laporta: "We have a very smooth and honest relationship with the club management. I would like to say that both Barcelona and the city government have great interest in the progress of the project because the stadium is very important to the city. But the priority is to ensure safety and we cannot issue permits until the city guard and fire department have given green lights or safety verification." The mayor of Barcelona called for "respect for the work of our civil servants, who need to work independently and rigorously without any pressure". He also emphasized: "The municipal government hopes that the club's project can be carried out smoothly, the faster the better, but all safety measures must be ensured. We hope that residents can enjoy community life, and we hope that the project can be completed smoothly, but it must be done well. My responsibility is to protect citizens and ensure safety."
Corboni did not give a specific date, but he pointed out that "I think we are on the right track" and did not discuss the technical issues that hinder the reopening of the court in detail. However, he did say "a lot of progress has been made and there will be good news soon".
Barcelona has pledged to resolve issues raised by the technical team to obtain permission and submitted a report pledging to address these issues while the new Camp Nou Stadium reopens, and the club now sets the 9th round of La Liga against Girona in the 2025/26 season as a key date.
The mayor of Barcelona denied that the city was interested in getting Barcelona to use the Olympic Stadium, both for economic and use purposes: "The Olympic Stadium is mainly used for concerts, we blocked a stadium that cannot be held in concerts or cultural events because we want to help Barcelona."
"Thanks to the club and the BSM (the municipal company responsible for managing the stadium), the Olympic Stadium is running very well, and the city hopes to release Lluís Companys Stadium, because it is a cultural space, we hope that the engineering will continue and free it up. "
Finally, Corbonni denied that the new mobility, infrastructure and public works manager Ricardo Fonte had influenced the issuance of the license because of his personal interests: "I have the best technicians and public managers working in the municipal government of Barcelona, but I will not ask which party they support. If I don't ask if they voted for me, I won't ask if they belong to a critical faction of a club. Furthermore, (Fonte) has no influence on this issue, which is not within his scope of work."
