Note:

Selecting the top 100 NBA history stars is a huge project. In the 78 long and glorious seasons of this event, more than 5,000 athletes have worn jerseys and sneakers to play the field. In previous player ranking attempts, you may have seen some media use group or a larger consensus to rank players. While collective efforts to develop a list have their advantages, there are still biases at the individual and group levels that can seriously affect the end result.

At ClutchPoints, we are committed to excluding as much as possible all potential subjective biases – whether intentionally or unintentionally. This list is calculated by the new evaluation system we created "E-Rank " (created by reporter Josh Eberley).

E-Rank is an algorithm system that evaluates NBA players' achievements through quantitative indicators. It is not influenced by the influence of the game, public opinion, endorsement or social media, nor accept hypothetical inferences, nor is it influenced by nostalgia.

The system is based on 23 dimensions, covering career data, peak performance, league awards and crucial winning abilities. Through this multi-dimensional cross-validation, E-Rank is committed to presenting the player's historical status rankings in an objective and quantitative manner.

Although we use quantitative formulas to purposefully focus on objectivity and consistency to replace the subjective judgment of repeated debates, this list is certainly not perfect, it is just another new point in this endless discussion.

It should be noted that Josh Eberley, the author of this article, is a veteran fan who is full of insight, thinking and curiosity about the NBA, does not fully agree with the final ranking of the list. This is precisely crucial: if my personal opinion is exactly the same as the list, it means that the data results only reflect my preset position, rather than the conclusions drawn from honest exploration.
