"World Sports News" reported that the Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Association launched a special investigation process on Wednesday into the inappropriate behavior of fans during the game between Sevilla and Barcelona last week. The investigation focuses on the seriously insulting slogans against Queen Sofia that appeared in the north stand of the Pizjuan Stadium.
According to the official complaint submitted by La Liga, in the 57th minute of the game, a group of home team fans in multiple areas of the North Stand organized and sang songs that insulted Honorary Queen Sofia and the two TV stations for about 3 minutes. The report also pointed out that in the 10th and 94th minutes of the game, fans in the same area also shouted insulting slogans against Barcelona.
To this end, the Football Association has appointed an investigating judge to follow up on the matter and be responsible for collecting evidence and making penalty recommendations. The investigation process will last for several weeks and the club may face fines as a result. If a penalty decision is made, the club will reserve the right to appeal to the Spanish Football Federation's Appeal Committee, the Court of Arbitration for Sport and even the ordinary courts.
