TA: Tsimikas left Liverpool due to lack of playing time and may not return after loaning out

Liverpool player Tsimikas joined Roma on loan in the summer window. TA disclosed more details behind the transfer.

TA mentioned that the main reason for Tsimikas leaving the team was that it was difficult to get stable playing time in Liverpool. He has always been at a disadvantage in the competition with Robertson. When Gomez became a priority substitute at left back last season, and the team spent 40 million pounds to introduce Kolkoz, the future of the Greek international was a foregone conclusion. Although the loan contract does not contain a buyout clause, it is generally believed that it is unlikely that he will return to Liverpool.

During the transfer process, many English clubs expressed interest in him, but Tsimikas himself is unwilling to join a Premier League rival at this stage due to his deep relationship with Liverpool. Several French clubs also considered him, but his high salary proved to be an obstacle, and the deal was brokered by Roma agreeing to fully bear his wages.

During his five years at Liverpool, Tsimikas was well-liked by his teammates for his positive and optimistic personality. He and Jota, who joined him together, established a deep friendship that transcended the dressing room. After Jota passed away tragically in a car accident, Tsimikas got a tattoo on his hand as a permanent memorial.

For fans, his most classic moment is undoubtedly the winning penalty kick in the 2022 FA Cup final. This scene is also tattooed on his arm. Now, the "native of Greece" will start a new chapter in the city of Rome.
