Mandanda has become a free agent since his contract with Rennes expired in July, and the 40-year-old Mandanda decided to end his career.
Mandanda said: "I need to take time to accept it (retirement), because it's not easy, but yes, I stopped. I went through a long period of thinking because I received a lot of calls (from Le Havre, Lorient, Guern, Brest, Montpellier), but I refused every time."
