According to previous reports, NBA officials issued an official statement regarding the arrest of Billups and Rozier by the FBI, ordering them to resign from their teams immediately!
According to Heat team reporters Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang, they talked about some details about the Heat's trade to acquire Rozier.
"Rozier was charged with two felony counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The indictment accuses him of revealing to co-conspirators inside information that he would retire early due to injury, allowing the other party to place large bets on the fact that his data could not meet statistical standards. Rozier's attorney has denied all charges, and the NBA placed Rozier on paid leave shortly after his arrest on Thursday." Two reporters wrote.
In August 2021, Rozier signed a four-year contract worth $96.3 million with the Hornets. He was traded to Miami in January 2024. His salary this season is expected to be US$26.6 million, of which approximately US$25 million is guaranteed income.
