In this week's "Tribe" program, reporter Raul Varela analyzed Vinicius' controversial substitution in the El Clasico and his subsequent reaction.
He believed that the Brazilian player's apology was not sincere and did not reflect true regret: "This is not an apology, it is a request for forgiveness."
Varela reviewed the incident: "At around 5:30 on Sunday afternoon, Vinicius was replaced by Xabi Alonso. There was still a long time in the game and the score was undecided. He vented his dissatisfaction on the spot and Threaten to leave the club."
However, what surprised the reporter most was the player's complete lack of self-reflection afterwards. "Two hours later, he appeared in front of the camera with a smile on his face, as if nothing had happened. There was no reflection and no intention to correct." Varela pointed out that there was a huge contrast between the player's emotion during the game and his calm response after the game.
Varela also analyzed Xabi Alonso's handling of the situation, praising his maturity in complex situations: "Alonso tried not to let the focus deviate from the actual issue. The substitution decision may be wrong, but his words are correct. This is the reality of coaching Real Madrid."
Varela believed that the coach remained calm amid the media noise and sent a clear message: "The interests of the team are higher than personal self-esteem. As for disciplinary issues, we will talk about it later."
The reporter emphasized the difficulty of managing a dressing room like Real Madrid with many star players and strong personalities. "This is what coaching Real Madrid is like. Everybody understands the 4-4-2 formation and compact defence," he said, pointing to the emotional management required of Los Blancos' coach.
In his opinion, Alonso has shown the ability to handle the team's success and internal crisis: "He is marching towards the Cibeles Square, achieving twelve of the thirteen victories, and his performance is very good."
Varela further pointed out that in Real Madrid, the content of the tactical board is not as important as the balance of human nature: "Maybe now we Understand why those coaches who are called "positioners" and "managers" are so beneficial to Real Madrid. They should also add Champions League winners to their resumes."
Finally, the reporter ended with a lesson about the incident: the importance of humility and self-criticism, even for the greatest figures.
