According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the Turkish Super League team Istanbul intends to invite Shahin to be the new coach.

Istanbul officially parted ways with head coach Chagdash Attan on Monday morning. Previously, rumors about the head coach's upcoming resignation had already spread due to a poor start of only two points in the early two league games of the season.

According to reporter Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the club has negotiated with former Dortmund coach Shahin, and the portal Fanatik also reported on the negotiations that have begun.

In addition to Shahin, it is reported that Errol Brut is also one of the candidates for the position of coach in Istanbul. The reporter said the new coach in Istanbul will be finalized in the short term, and although there is also a third candidate, the club management said that the final decision will be made from the first two candidates today.

Shahin once coached another Turkish Super League team, Antalya Sports, and returned to Dortmund in January 2024. He then served as the head coach of the first team in the summer, but was dismissed in February this year.
