Dortmund coach Kovac said in an interview with Sky Sports that he hopes the team will complete a contract renewal with Schlottbeck.
Regarding Schlottbeck's contract renewal, Kovac said: "This is a question that Kyle needs to consider. I don't know how far the negotiations have progressed. But as a coach, I really hope he can renew the contract. The senior management should speed up the negotiations, and I believe this will succeed." If the contract renewal is successful, Schlottbeck's salary will double, and the current central defender's annual salary is 5 million euros.
