Italian media Laroma24 and two football reporters said that Salah Edin is not in Rome's plan and leaving the team this summer is a foregone conclusion.
The 23-year-old Dutch left-back Salah Edin transferred from Twente to Roma in January this year, with a transfer fee of 8 million euros and a 2 million bonus. But Salah Edin only played three times in Serie A last season, and during this summer's training camp, Roma's new coach Gasperini was also not optimistic about him. Salah Edin was not even included in the roster during Rome's warm-up match against New Future City Sports last night.
Football reporter Filippo Biavola said: "Salah Edin failed to convince coach Gasperini. He was excluded from Roma's last pre-season warm-up match this summer. He is currently looking for a solution for the left-back. He joined Roma for 8 million euros transfer fee plus 2 million prizes in January this year."
Another football reporter Eleonora Trota revealed, "Roma had informed Salah Edin's agent as early as July this year that the players were not in the team's plan and he needed to find a new team for the players. At present, some Dutch teams are interested in Salah Edin, but new options may also appear."
And Italian media Laroma24 said that La Liga Elche has contacted Roma and hopes to introduce Salah Edin. Elche wants to loan Salah Edin for one season and add a conditional mandatory buyout clause.
