Recently, ESPN Los Angeles reporter Jorge Sedano talked about a Mavericks executive's views on Doncic on his personal podcast "The Sedano&Kap".
"This guy said to me, 'I was with Kobe when he lost to the Celtics. I remember when the Celtics won the championship, they played that song in the arena. Kobe would then play that song every day in practice. He played it every day after that. Play that song until he wins the championship. 'That guy also said to me, 'I was with him when LeBron (James) lost to the Mavericks, and he was in deep self-reflection.' LeBron himself said this, and he didn't go out for two weeks. What? He went to the gym and worked hard, he met with Olajuwon, and he started polishing his post game because everyone was laughing at his post skills, and then he became one of the best post players in the game. ’ He said, ‘We expected that (always). Losing in the finals) could serve as motivation for Luka to evolve to the next level, and then he comes back in even worse shape than he had the previous season. That's when we knew maybe this wasn't going to work,'" Sedano said.
